"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

Carol A. Wahlgren, LCSW

Last Updated: 05/10/2012

Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in relationship healing and  personal growth therapy with special expertise in child abuse and domestic violence.

Carol uses a client-centered approach in her clinical work, always focused on having the therapy approach fit the client, not the  other way around.

She holds certifications as an Advanced Mediator and a Child and Family Investigator and first practiced Structural Family Therapy under the supervision of nationally known master family therapist Dr. Spencer Friedman.  Carol has more than 25 years of  public, private non- profit and private practice experience  related to physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect, domestic violence, attachment issues and relationship healing.

A core value in Carol's work is that children deserve families that are able to provide them loving support and care and that parents deserve support to help assure that happens.  No one was ever born automatically knowing how to be a good parent.

Carol has more than 200 hours of recent expert training related to domestic violence  assessment and intervention.   She is the lead author for the Family Assessment chapter in Helping in Child Protective Services, A Competency-Based Casework Handbook edited by the American Humane Association and published by Oxford University Press in 2004.
