"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Specializing in Trauma, Dissociation and Relational Counseling

I have two main specializations that i sometimes combine:

Relationship counseling. Is your relationship in trouble? Do you feel overwhelmed when trying to discuss issues? Do you find you just can't bring them up? Do you suspect previous trauma (see below) that either you or your partner have endured may be interfering with your ability to work things out? My goal is to use the experience and skills I have learned over many years to help you discover your natural abillity to effectively deal with conflicts. Yes, I believe you can, even though you may not just yet!

Trauma counseling. No matter how badly hurt you are or how damaged you may feel you are there is hope. I have a spiritual background along with psychological training in trauma (see next paragraph) and can help you rediscover the integrity and dignity you were born with. Some of the special training I have includes hypnosis, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizatioon Reprocessing.) These methods can transform your life, sometimes very rapidly.

What do I call trauma? Trauma can be a big "T" trauma,(life threatening event) such as rape, surviving violence, surviving aTsunami, War, or an armed robbery. Trauma can also be a small "t" trauma that is overwhelming and leaves you unable to function as well as you wish you could, such as growing up with fear of a violent or mentally ill parent, working in a hostile work environment, being abused by a spouse or partner, loss of a loved one, etc. Severe trauma can leave one feeling split up in pieces, unable to stand up for him/herself, But lesser traumas may leave you equally devastated.

Trauma is the root of almost all so called "mental diagnoses" such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks and dissociation. No, you were not born defective.
