"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

Willa Shapiro, LCSW

Last Updated: 02/21/2012

If you are visiting this page and looking for a therapist I'd like to welcome you.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have worked as a psychotherapist for over 25 years helping adults of all ages with emotional struggles and problems they experience within themselves, with family, friends and in their work situations.

It is difficult to acknowledge that one has a personal problem and even harder to face our own part in these problems.  It is a condition of human nature that we protect ourselves from looking into painful realities about ourselves, our situations and our loved ones.  However, when we are unable to - just feel better - or work out a situation or relationship on our own it is a signal that we need the help of a skilled, experienced, non-judgmental and caring professional.

In therapy with me, your issues and problems emerge within the privacy of our therapeutic relationship.  We focus on understanding your thoughts, feelings and behaviors which may have previously soothed or masked difficult truths but have otherwise sabotaged you or obstructed your greater happinesses.

My office hours are flexible, location is easily reachable in midtown Manhattan and my fees are reasonable and negotiable.  I hope you will contact me.  It would be my pleasure to meet you.
