"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

Ellen Rottersmann, LICSW

Last Updated: 08/30/2011

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Many people come into therapy because they need support and guidance to move beyond a place that feels stuck or uncomfortable. Sometimes people are struggling with depression or anxiety that feels unmanageable. Other people enter therapy to enhance intimacy with a partner or to better understand sexual orientation or gender identity. I also work with parents dealing with a transgender child, adolescent or adult. Whatever brings you to therapy at this time, I will work with you to create a safe, compassionate place to explore your thoughts and feelings, increase your awareness and find relief from suffering.

My style is collaborative and interactive using a fluid mix of relational, psychodynamic, cognitive and mind-body approaches. In 18 years of practice I have worked with a wide range of individuals, couples and families.
