I have 30 years of clinical experience in providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children, the last 25 of which have followed advanced training in couple and family therapy. My approach to treatment is problem-focused and consists of both short as well as longer term individual, couple, and family treatment. I view therapy as a process that focuses on each person's unique strengths and responsibilities that are brought to their relationships. Empowering individuals in this way fosters zest, action, increased sense of worth, and the desire for deeper connection. I encourage a positive, health driven view of people and their ability to change, often in a relatively short period of time. In addition to providing therapy, I have been a clinical supervisor/teacher at The Family Institute at Northwestern University since 1995, training graduate students and post graduates in couple and family therapy.
