"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

Max Shapey, LCSW

Last Updated: 04/13/2012

Max K Shapey, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Choosing a psychotherapist is an important--and often difficult--decision. I practice psychotherapy that it is interactive: I respond to what my clients tell me; I offer advice when appropriate; and provide guidance for deeper understanding when helpful. I offer goal-directed psychotherapy, promoting competence and self-assurance in day-to-day problems; and insight-oriented exploration for greater self-awareness, understanding, and self-actualization. My approach is non-judgmental and collaborative; my hope is that you and I will work together to find the solutions and relief that you need.

I am pleased to announce that I am now accepting select 16 and 17 year olds as clients. This decision was based on my observations of the suffering of adult clients over many years, and the growing certainty that in order to reduce the difficulties and troubles that many adults experience I need to also help clients who are younger.
