My ideal client is an adult who has decided that something isn't going well in life, or is facing a transition, and who is prepared to honestly address possible causes and to work to make or accept changes. I assist clients with all relationships, including parenting and caring for elders; dealing with transitions; grief and loss; anxiety/depression; domestic violence, anger management and trauma recovery.
I have extensive training and experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including The National Institutes of Health, the Menninger Clinic, community clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, crisis cases, and private practice. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities depending upon the issues presented and the client's preferences.
I strive to provide a safe and effective environment to promote healthy changes desired by the client. Working with individuals and couples to facilitate understanding, healing and change, I help clients discover their own answers, gaining new insights and perceptions of past and current events in their lives. I have wide experience working with multi-cultural populations including Afrcan American, Native American and Spanish Speaking individuals.
