"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

Irene Olson Walton, LCSW-C

Last Updated: 12/31/2011

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

In a warm, supportive environment I work to help people feel better about themselves and their relationships.  I am active and collaborative as I work to help individuals and couples set the goals that they want to achieve and work towards those goals. I use knowledge, humor, and compassion to develop a supportive working relationship.

I help individuals to improve self-awareness, assertiveness, communication, and sense of well-being.  I help couples to reduce conflict and build intimacy through increased understanding and improved communication. I do both short-term, problem-solving counseling and more long-term psychotherapy.

I help people to accept themselves more fully and to build relationships in which they feel accepted and loved.  I work with people who have experienced anxiety or depression, trauma and abuse, alcohol or drug problems in their families, and many other problems. I am very experienced in working with couples.

I have specialized training in object relations as taught at the Washington School of Psychology, Imago Relationship Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and sex therapy.  Having worked overseas, I am very familiar with problems of adjustment and transition. I have helped many families and individuals adjusting to new living situations.
