"I can't thank you enough. Your web site is such an incredible resource. I only wish I had found it earlier..."

Irene A.

"I have to say that I am most impressed with your site. As I told you I had "googled" and "yahooed" for this information but found nothing that compared to your database... My search was becoming very stressful and I wish to thank you for relieving that stress."

Janet S.

John J Gorvin, Psy.D.

Last Updated: 02/24/2012

Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider

I am a Licensed Psychologist practicing in Massachusetts for over 20 years.  I have been in private practice since 1998, and at my current location in Wakefield since September, 2000.  My practice is focused upon conducting diagnostic psychological and neuropsychological assessment of adults and adolescents, including assessment of memory problems, dementia, and other cognitive disorders (i.e. attention deficit disorder).  I also dedicate some limited hours to providing individual psychotherapy of adolescents and adults, addressing depression, anxiety disorders, grieving, and treating major mental illness (i.e. Bipolar disorder, or manic depression, Schizophrenia).  My approach to treatment is action oriented and outcome based, using objective ways to measure progress and success.

I have also recently expanded my practice to include sports psychology and coaching of short and long distance runners.  (Please see drgorvin.com and runhard.org).
