I am a licensed clinical social worker and former health care attorney. I specialize in the needs of mid-life and older adults. I use a relational model of therapy, based on the premise that healing and change occur directly as a result of the unique relationship that develops between therapist and client. Within the safety of this nurturing relationship, I take a common sense approach to treatment, and tailor my style and techniques to the needs of each client. Together, we will develop a plan that identifies your goals and outlines steps to achieve those goals. I have a deep respect for the power of the human spirit and help my clients focus on their strengths, rather than their weaknesses. My ultimate aim is to help each person to feel better and live the fullest life possible.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I provide geriatric consultation services to families looking for guidance on the best way to approach the care of a loved one. In some cases, I also become the private care manager for the family. If the family is in disagreement about how best to meet the care needs of their aged parent or other relative, I can help bring about consensus, using my skills both as social worker and attorney.
