I have worked in mental health care settings for over 26 years. My work utilizes most often a cognitive-behavioral approach, including brief and solution focused therapy. My mission is to be a resource for strengthening resilience for living and improving the quality of individual and family life.
Prior to private practice I was employed at the Center for Mental Health in Great Falls, MT, over a period of 15 years. During that time I worked with seriously mentally ill adults, providing varying levels of services, including individual and group therapy. I also developed and coordinated training seminars for staff, supervised graduate interns/unlicensed clinicians, and supervised day treatment programs. Additional work experience includes internships at King County Work Release in Seattle, WA, working with first time male felons, at the Seattle Mental Health Institute, Seattle, WA, working with older mentally ill adults, and as a school social worker. I have served on the MT NASW State Board and on the national NASW Social and Economic Justice for Peace Committee. I volunteered for the American Red Cross and provided mental health services in NYC after 9/11, published several book reviews for the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, and published an article for the NASW Social & Economic Justice for Peace Journal.
