As a therapist, my approach is direct, focused, collaborative, and interactive.  I provide a safe place for you to tell your story without fear of shame, blame, or judgment. Our goal is to help you get to the root of the problem, let go of self-punishment, and find self-compassion and self-understanding.  Together, we help you to respond to situations more thoughtfully and flexibly, instead of automatically; to improve relationships, and to grow beyond the factors that shaped your life.  History is not destiny!

Individuals come to my office with problems that include:  anger issues, intense emotions, anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, trauma and loss, chronic pain and debiitating medical/physical symptoms, problems at work, and Asperger's and autism-spectrum disorders.  I strive to be effective -- to use interventions that work -- guided by each individual's needs and goals.  My mission is to apply the highest clinical and ethical standard to the services that I provide.  It is immensely rewarding to me to help people to reach the goals that they set for themselves.

Contact me at (301) 509-4848, or see my website,, for more information.  I DO NOT ACCEPT D.C. MEDICAID.
