Grief Counselor

Gender: Female

Barbara is an experienced and compassionate grief counselor, providing guidance and support to individuals as they navigate the difficulties of the grieving process. Clients utilize a user-friendly, confidential, and private secure video platform. The counseling session environment is specifically designed to demonstrate the respect and care that each grieving person deserves.

Barbara encourages clients to set aside societal expectations about grief. Well-meaning friends and family offer suggestions, such as, time will heal your pain and let go and move on. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Barbara provides the experience, clinical skills, and compassion to work with each individual at his or her pace and address issues that each client defines as most important to their quality of life.

The foundation of Barbara’s work as a grief counselor was developed and intensified while working at a metropolitan Medical Examiner’s Office with families through the process of identifying a loved one. Working with scores of individuals during one of the most difficult days of their lives left a dedication of care and service to the grief stricken. Rural, suburban, and metro families share the same sense of loss, pain, anger, and confusion in a state of grief.

Barbara believes in an approach that is based on client strengths and resiliency. The therapeutic process is constructed to develop effective coping techniques and strategies. This framework supports the client in learning how to create a foundation and skills toolbox to meet the challenges of life today and the future.

Wherever you are in the process, call today to schedule a free ten minute video conference to explore Barbara’s approach and services to determine if they fit your needs. Barbara will bring her grief counseling skills to the place you are in your grief journey and life transition.
